Job Description
PCI is seeking an experienced Purchasing/Procurement Agent to support our Portland operations from our Vancouver, WA location. This role is responsible for verifying, preparing, and processing purchase orders, managing inventory, coordinating with suppliers, and supporting the purchasing needs of field and warehouse operations.
Key Responsibilities
- Verify purchase requisitions by comparing requested items to the master list; clarify unclear items and recommend alternatives.
- Fulfill inventory requests by checking stock levels and scheduling deliveries.
- Prepare purchase orders by verifying specifications and pricing, selecting appropriate vendors, obtaining supplier recommendations for substitutes, and securing departmental approvals.
- Obtain purchased items by placing orders with suppliers and monitoring delivery timelines.
- Verify receipt of goods by comparing received items to purchase orders; resolve shipment errors or backorders with suppliers.
- Authorize payment for purchases by forwarding receiving documentation.
- Process 3rd-party rental requests and follow up with field personnel and vendors throughout the rental period.
- Use online vendor portals for order placement and status monitoring.
- Maintain organized records by sorting and filing purchasing documents.
- Provide purchasing analysis and control insights by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing data and trends.
- Stay current in the field by participating in relevant training or educational opportunities.
- Contribute to overall organizational success by completing related tasks as needed.
- Schedule pickups and deliveries of materials and consumables within the organization.
Salary range: $64,000-85,000 annual salary plus non-guaranteed annualized bonus program
Basic Requirements
- Associate degree in Construction Management or equivalent experience
- 2–4 years of experience in construction
- 1–2 years of purchasing/procurement experience
- Strong team collaboration skills
- Excellent attention to detail
- High level of organization and communication skills
- Valid driver’s license
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite
- Extensive knowledge of:
- Material planning and methods engineering processes
- Negotiation of vendor terms, pricing, and delivery timelines based on budget and schedule
- Warehouse and inventory control policies and procedures
Preferred Requirements
- Systematic and process-driven mindset is preferred
