Site Safety Representative

Job Description

PCI is seeking a Safety Representative for its Washington, DC operations based in Ashburn, VA. This individual will be responsible for the following duties:

• Promote safety, safe work practices and behaviors to instill an injury-free culture throughout all site and field personnel
• Assist branch / site with the implementation and administration of the company’s accident prevention plan, policies and procedures. Including safety resources such as training, expertise and guidance
• Represent PCI and participate in Safety Committee activities
• Assist in identifying, correcting, and mitigating routine and non-routine safety and health hazards
• Ensure company and client safety reports and documentation are submitted timely and in accordance with client requirements and expectations
• Council and coach workers to gain compliance with the accident prevention plans, policies and procedures
• Identify, evaluate, and mitigate potential safety health hazards
• Conduct job site inspections and periodic audits to establish and evaluate the level of compliance
• Responsible for investigation and evaluation of injuries and illnesses for the project site
• Convey a professional and positive attitude as the safety representative of plant site and corporation
• Evaluate and approve safety equipment and personal protective equipment (PPE)

This position is safety-sensitive.

Basic Requirements:

• Minimum 2 years' experience in a construction safety related field
• Must be at least 18 years old
• Prolonged periods standing and working outside
• Physically able to perform assigned tasks
• Must be able to lift 40 pounds at a time
• Local to the area
• OSHA 30

Preferred Requirements:

• Additional OSHA Certifications
• Bilingual
