Senior Staff Accountant

Job Description

Performance Contracting Group is seeking an experienced Senior Staff Accountant for its Corporate Accounting operations based in Lenexa, KS. This individual will:

• Reconcile sub-ledger accounts to general ledger for all companies
• Participate in month-end close process
• Journal entries and other general accounting
• Research and analytical problem solving
• Be detail oriented, reliable, and well organized
• Work independently and in a team environment with an emphasis on accuracy and timeliness
• Respond to Performance Contracting branch inquiries in a timely and professional manner
• Prepare summary financial information and ad hoc reporting to management as needed
• Possess good computer skills and demonstrate the ability to learn new computer functionality
• Work well with others through all methods of communication
• External audit assistance and preparation of schedules
• Special projects as needed
• Other duties as assigned

Basic Requirements:

• Must have a bachelor’s degree in Accounting
• Must have at least 4 years of experience in Accounting
• Must possess advanced proficiency with Microsoft Excel (pivot tables, V look-ups, formulas, etc.)
• Displays strong attention to detail 
• Exhibits excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
• Self-starter who can effectively prioritize workload
• Demonstrated adaptability and flexibility in a fast-paced work environment
• Experience working in a high-volume accounting environment
• Strong ability to think critically and troubleshoot issues
• Displays resourcefulness and ability to locate information independently

Preferred Requirements:

• At least 4 years of experience in public accounting preferred
• CPA preferred
• Construction industry experience preferred
• Local to the Kansas City Metro Area
