Branch Safety Engineer

PCI seeks a Branch Safety Engineer for its PCI Indianapolis 551 operations based in Carmel, IN. This individual will be responsible for the following duties:

• Assist the branch with implementing and administering PCG and client accident prevention plans, policies, and procedures.
• Ensure that the company and client safety reports, statistics, and documentation are submitted promptly.
• Provide safety technical expertise and support to the branch.
• Promote safety procedures and safe work practices.
• Assist in investigating work-related injuries, illnesses, and near-miss incidents.
• Enforce corrective action to prevent the recurrence of hazardous conditions or behaviors.
• Practice timely and accurate accident reporting.
• Review all accidents and investigation reports.
• Act as liaison between the company and client regarding site safety management.
• Assist in identifying, correcting, and mitigating routine and non-routine safety and health hazards.
• Council and coach workers to gain compliance with the accident prevention plans, policies, and procedures.
• Provide safety resources for workers.
• Identify, anticipate, and evaluate potential safety health hazards.
• Conduct job site inspections and periodic audits to establish and evaluate compliance.
• Establish branch and project safety goals.
• Evaluate and approve safety equipment and personal protective equipment (PPE).
• Able to conduct adequate safety training.

This position is safety-sensitive.

Basic Requirements:

• Bachelor’s degree in Occupational Health and Safety or Construction Science/Management, related discipline, or comparable work experience.

Preferred Requirements:

• OSHA 30 for Construction
• Have obtained, or are eligible to obtain, a CHST or OSHA 500
• Strong oral and written communication skills.
• Motivated self-starter willing to take initiative
• Demonstrated strong work ethic through internship or labor experience in the field
• Positive attitude and ability to work in a team environment
• Customer service skills include working with customers and building strong relationships.
• Ability to learn new job skills by engaging in the technical aspects of the job and applying new skills as they are taught
