Performance Contracting Inc. seeks a Design Engineer at its facility located at 21670 Red Rum Drive, Suite 199, Ashburn, VA 20147.

Description:

Participate in BIM Coordination, pre-fabrication, and modular construction design meetings. Communicate with Engineers, Architects and/or clients to deliver and convert to 3D, submitted drawings which will be used by all disciplines. Produce drawings consistent with instructions, guidelines, and industry BIM standards. Create 3D models utilizing Revit 2018-2021. Utilize Navisworks Manage to run clash detection and identify potential issues. Familiarity with creating search sets, clash tests, Navisworks plugins such as BIM Track issues. Perform BIM compliance checks of deliverables. Assist in creating and maintaining BIM templates and families. Provide all other Engineering & Design support tasks including but not limited to processing shop drawing, comments, and computer-aided drafting & design. Create drawings and details for the following system: Cleanroom walls and ceilings, Unistrut support systems/racks, Exterior/Interior wall and ceiling framing fabrication, CNC fabricated parts and system programming. Work directly with and takes direction from Project Managers and Senior Design Engineer. Identify and communicate constructability issues from 3D modeling to project team. Telecommuting permitted up to 1 day per week.

Requirements:

 Bachelor’s degree, or foreign equivalent in Construction Management, Construction Science, Architecture, Civil Engineering or a related field plus 1 year of experience as a Design Engineer, or related occupation. Additionally, the applicant must have employment experience with: Performing BIM Modeling in REVIT; Engaging in BIM Coordination with construction trades; Preparing construction scope documents and drawings; Performing construction clash resolution with Navisworks; Performing BIM compliance checks for operations; Providing digital layout information for field installations with Trimble laser layout machine; and Providing lighting study for project using Revit/Elum tools.
