Job Description
The Senior Financial Analyst will play a pivotal part in PCG’s financial planning, analysis, and strategic decision-making processes. This role is critical in providing financial insights, supporting strategic decision-making, and ensuring strong financial management of the entire organization.
Responsibilities Include
- Develop and maintain detailed financial models for budgeting, forecasting, and long-range planning, specifically adapting to the cyclical and project-based nature of construction.
- Conduct variance analysis between actual results, budget, and forecast, identifying key drivers and providing actionable insights to management.
- Prepare comprehensive financial reports, dashboards, and presentations for senior management, highlighting key performance indicators (KPIs) relevant to PCG operations.
- Support the development and implementation of financial policies and procedures to enhance internal controls and operational efficiency
- Conduct ad-hoc financial analysis to support strategic initiatives, investment decisions, and business development opportunities (e.g., market analysis, feasibility studies for new ventures).
- Provide financial insights and recommendations to optimize working capital, cash flow, and capital expenditures.
- Identify and analyze business trends, market conditions, and competitive landscapes.
- Act as a trusted financial business partner to various corporate departments, PCG branches and regions and the operations controllers, providing financial guidance and support for strategic initiatives.
- Evaluate business proposals, investment opportunities, and new projects, performing detailed financial modeling and ROI analysis.
- Support special projects, as assigned by senior management, including M&A due diligence, capital expenditure analysis, and operational efficiency studies.
- Leverage technology to automate reporting and enhance data analysis capabilities.
Basic Qualifications
- Strong understanding of construction financials, accounting principles, percentage-of-completion revenue recognition, WIP, retainage, and job costing.
- Proficiency in financial modeling, budgeting, and forecasting techniques.
- Advanced Excel skills (pivot tables, VLOOKUPs, financial functions, macros).
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and critical thinking skills.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
- Exceptional communication (written and verbal) and interpersonal skills, with the ability to present complex financial information clearly to non-financial stakeholders.
- Proactive, self-motivated, improvement-focused, and customer-oriented mindset.
- Advanced with business intelligence (BI) tools (e.g., Power BI, Tableau).
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance or a business-related field.
- Minimum of 7-10 years of progressive financial analysis experience, with at least 2-3 years specifically within the construction industry.
Preferred Qualifications
- CPA, CMA, CFA or MBA designation.
