Job Description
Job duties may include but are not limited to the following:
- Assemble, install, and analyze defects, and repair boilers, pressure vessels, tanks, vats and duct work in the field
- Repair or replace defective parts using hand and power tools, gas torches, welding equipment, and may operate metalworking machinery to repair or make parts
- Dismantle leaky boilers, patch weak spots with metal stock, replace defective sections, and strengthen joints
- Properly use chain falls, come along tools,and other rigging equipment
- Follow and employ the correct use ofall crane/rigging hand signals
- Read and interpret prints and plans
- Required to have all boiler-making and structural fitting hand tools and be experienced with associated power tools
- On-the-job training offered
This position is safety-sensitive.
Requirements
- Minimum 1 year of previous experience
- Must have experience using chain falls, come along tools, and other rigging equipment
- Must be able to read and interpret prints and plans
- Possess knowledge of all crane and rigging hand signals
- Must be at least 18 years old
- Ability to perform basic math
- Able to withstand prolonged periods standing and working outside
- Physically able to perform assigned tasks
- Must be able to lift 40 pounds at a time
- Must be comfortable working from heights
- Must have reliable transportation
